Orcs Up! Quest tower / Quest selection

The Quest Tower now has adorable little telescopes poking out, ready for your peeping pleasure! Give the tower a tap, and boom—you’re in telescope mode, where you can pick your next epic adventure. Spin the lever to cycle through quests, check out the shiny loot, and see just how tough the baddies are by tapping the level button. Each scenario gets juicier the more you play, leveling up with you and unlocking cooler drops and fiercer enemies as you go. Replayability? Oh yeah! Plus, don’t worry— narrative cutscenes only pop up once, so you can dive straight back into the action.

The little emblem in front of the tower is called ‚Loyalty’—a shiny badge of dedication! You can collect it every 24 hours, and it unlocks some cool content by being a key requirement. But don’t worry, it’s not something you spend—it just keeps growing and adds to your overall score, like a badge of honor. Now, here’s the catch—the Loyalty emblem is the premium in-app purchase. Players need to buy it to unlock and build this special piece. The first quest? Oh, that’s gonna need at least 1+ Loyalty, so you’re not going anywhere without it. Time to get loyal!

Handles for my plates

Had a few people (my younger brother, his girlfriend, and my 4-year-old daughter) test the first 15 minutes of it (intro, early gameplay, smithing). They found that picking the plates directly often led to accidental „picks“ and displacements, and they all preferred having a handle instead.

So, all interaction with the plates is now more isolated from the interaction of picking and moving the actual plate.

Orcs up! Creating the various gameplay elements

Orcs X already had plenty of mechanics besides chopping the main tree for wood. Here, the special challenge is to make it meaningful and enjoyable in VR. I am playing around with the first set of game mechanics. Once I nail them down, I plan to make little videos again with voice-over explaining each mechanic.

Orcs VR -> Orcs Up! Dev. Update

Hi! Everything is coming together now. Progress is fast, and I am having a lot of fun creating the successor to Orcs X. This time, it’s for VR platforms, initially primarily the Meta Quest (2 and 3).

I have 3 videos in private mode that I am now ready to share. They will go public today (scheduled).
The game title will be Orcs Up! I am already preparing the Meta Store entry while finishing the last elements of version 1. I plan to update it with new content the same way as with Orcs X.

But first, I need to test the waters and make a „wishlistable“ store entry so I can see how many people are really interested.

Here some quick sneak peak of the orc village life!

Greetings Chieftain,
