Facebook Ads – Waste of money and big harm to your product page

Don’t use Facebook Ads – It is scam
So I tried Facebook ads intensively on my first app game The Sha Man (250 euro) .
With the Sha Man Facebook page I ended up around 2100 Likes but suspicious is that my posts only get seen from around 10-40 people. With practically 0 engagement on the posts, no comments and no likes. So I checked a few of accounts and my doubts are confirmed some of them appear less human and very fake. It’s weird to become a victim of such a scam directly from Facebook itself.

It can destroy your Fan page:
Facebook decided to show some of your posts only to a slice of your actual following meaning the more fake users you have the harder it gets to actually reach real people. Very harmful to your page.

This guy sums it up:

Motivation Videos

While I work started to listen to a lot of podcasts and interviews with people which interest me right now. And since I’m trying to making a business for the long run I also ended up at this entrepreneur motivation videos.

Right now I’m listening to a lot of Seth Godin and Tony Robbins, which are successful coaches for entrepeneurs.

Tony Robbins – Why we do what we do

Seth Godin – Thinking like a winner

Crossbow shooting dog guards for granny’s castle

The title should explain everything, haha. So it is monday and I have exactly around 1 month until I release Sha Cat for the iPhone.
Today I completed the Chapter 3 level select screen leaving me with one more to go. (release the game with 4 chapters)
Also the enemies appearing after the treasure guards have been born. Crossbow shooting dogs, obviously they do not want to come to close to this cat.

Doubts

Self-Doubt
As closer I come to the release of my projects the more self critical I become.

When I start off designing games I think about what kind of game I would like to play and I create this world in my head. During the development I have this critical voice in my head to make it better and better and that works out good and I can see my game blossoming.

But when I come close to a release this voice becomes very strong not only doubting features of the game or scenes, no the whole project itself or even deeper I doubt myself strongly.

As a result I add features stressfully in the game, or remove stuff I had for ages. The main problem is the „add stuff“ reaction.

Since I waste a lot of time and move into a big risk of breaking existing stuff when I do changes like this quick in last minute.
Sometimes I do such a rush work and 5 minutes later I realize that its crap and remove it again. It feels like my mind wants to sabotage me in this situation.

So doubts rise as I move closer to the point where I put my work and with this myself in front.
Which I also have observed during my time as an employe, where the whole team moves into this panic hectic state.

So I guess its common. It’s weird to be aware of something and still mostly having no influence of what happens to you anyways.

Sha Cat – The face of the marketing campaign

I am a nerdy game designer, fantasy role playing games like Diablo 2, World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy 7 are my background.
But the mobile market is casual, so I have to align a little bit and in my deepest core I am happy about it too.
My girlfriend always reminds me if something looks to nerdy and helps me to keep the cute and elegant touch. I’m getting better at it but still a way to go. Ah, jeah that’s a photo we took in Berlin this girl is the face of the Sha Cat marketing campaign.

„Once upon a time there was a little girl in a big city, who was challenged by #ShaCat… Are you also ready for the#challenge?“
