The beginning of Orcs X2 throws you straight into the adventure: rain, darkness, crashing waves, and a tiny orc ship fighting its way through the storm. With your hands, you guide the journey in VR and feel right away that something big is about to begin.
Orcs X2 is still in development, but the course is set: a wild, funny, and epic VR hit for Meta Quest, packed with orcs, magic, chaos, and progression. The voyage starts soon. And if the orcs are right, this will not just be another game, but a true VR sensation.
Build, upgrade, and command your Orc village using hand tracking. Chop wood with real movements, boost your Orcs, and unlock new areas in a world that grows with you.
A unique blend of idle clicker mechanics, RPG progression, and immersive VR interaction — easy to pick up, hard to put down.
From relaxing village building to powerful upgrades and future co-op gameplay, Orcs X2 delivers a fresh take on casual VR gaming.
Hi, my name is David Zobrist. I’ve been working in the gaming industry since 2009.
Over the years, I’ve worked as a Game Designer, Quality Assurance Manager, and Indie Game Developer. Right now, I’m the CTO of PsyCurio, where we’re developing a VR application for the treatment of psychological illnesses.
As a side project, I’m working on Orcs X2 for VR — an incremental idle RPG based on a mobile game I originally launched in 2015, with another version released in 2018. In total, the game reached over 2 million installs.
It’s free-to-play, and I didn’t monetize it properly back then — so I’m still chasing that indie dream. At the same time, my work at PsyCurio feels truly meaningful.
Overall, I’d say I’m in a good place right now, especially with all the new AI tools available.
One of the biggest bottlenecks in my earlier projects was content production — players would progress much faster than I could create new content. With today’s AI tools, this problem finally feels solvable.
Thanks for reading — and feel free to follow my blog if you’re interested in the progress of Orcs X2 and my journey.
Orcs X2 — the VR RPG idle clicker incremental game for Meta Quest — has been developed by David Zobrist over the past years as a passion project.
It combines incremental game mechanics with RPG elements, exploration, and a rich story — all in VR, using your own hands through intuitive hand tracking.
The game is planned to launch in Q4 2026, and you’ll be able to wishlist it in the coming months.
It delivers complex, intriguing gameplay mechanics powered by intuitive XR hand tracking.
You are stranded on an unknown, mysterious island and make your way deeper and deeper into it, unlocking new areas, mechanics, and challenges.
I hope you will be there with me to start this new “Orcs” adventure!
As a goal for 2026, I gave myself the task to finally do proper design first! I had to go through too many iterations for the beach area — to be fair, it’s my first VR game, so I had to test a lot of things early on.
But now I want to reduce development time through proper planning.
