Crossroad – Security or step into the darkness
Wednesday I experienced an extreme down, I had to send away my girlfriend which came over. Since I couldn’t deal with anyone else and just had to be alone. She is awesome and understood the situation, she supported me since the beginning.
I arrived on a another big crossroad right now.
The founding which had financially backed me up the last 6 months, just expired. So I’m totally on my own with far to less income to survive of it. A ex-collegeau, Jakob Braunisch contacted me and told me about a job offer at King Berlin, the company which made candy crush, a position as level designer is available. This guy already organized another good job for me back than at Young Internet/Goodbeans. We had a very inspiring talk on a dinner together with his girlfriend, as a Result I made the newest game „1 Power“ which I handed in to Apple today.
But the point is that there would be now the choice to apply with the help of Jakob at King for the open position and become an employe again. This sounds perfect for the careful, fearful and sometimes wise voice in me, since I still could develop apps on the side.
But on this wednesday this exploded in me and ate me from inside out. I would not have the energy to continue doing what I do, I would delay or even abandon my real destiny, of course I would work on games at King and it would be awesome for my resume but…
It makes me so sad inside…but of course I have to live of something… But I just feel like I’m about to start.. maybe just a bit longer…I’m growing so much right now…
I have money left for the next 3-4 months and could save some extra 1-2 month by moving to my girlfriend and rent out my current place.
So sail to a save harbor or walk into the darkness to see what it brings?
1 Day Development Time -> Finished Game App (1 Power)
A game I build today, it is freaking awesome. I will work through the night to wrap it up and submit it to apple.
The app will be called “ 1 Power“.
Which will be place one listed in apple new section. Since it’s a number and it’s the first of them 😛
I could already submit soon but I might wait for the right music track since this will define the whole game.

I smile a Lot – A.k.a Nguyen Anh Duc
Today I want to introduce you guys to a good friend of mine, we both started of as interns at YAGER Development wayyyyy baaaaack than, in 2010. Since then he has risen to one of the most talented concept artists within the gaming industry. He currently works for Big Point Mississippi. I’m already looking forward to make a small app game with him. It will hit the app store like a meteor.
The main reason I write about this guy now is that he just started doing his own print’s on shirts.
Designing and producing all by himself at his home.

My cactus: Pedro
That’s my new peyote cactus! His name is Pedro.
It’s actually a trippy cactus, causing psychedelic effects, which are used for religious purpose since a long time.
„The Native American Church (NAC) is an indigenous religion that uses the entheogen peyote (Lophophora williamsii) sacramentally to induce religious, shamanic, or spiritual experiences.“
To own it is totally legal you can buy it in normal plant shops, to consume it is totally illegal. I also heard it is a very harsh one and causes a massive hangover. So not the easiest way to role if you look for a trip.
What ever for now I only want to grow it, which takes around 1 year. I’m not sure I gonna try to eat it ever. If I try it, than in a country where its legal, obviously…

Cooperation:
The last days I created a total new version of his first app since the gameplay wasn’t as advanced as the graphics. We made it more „flappy“, meaning hard and addicting. We want to get it live right before the big Fifa 2014 Football event starts off, so it maybe catches a wave to ride with. We also re-skinned it and changed a few variables to make it a tennis game which also connects to the other big sport event this year, which is Wimbledon 2014. We already work on a totally new top secret project.
Conclusions:
Sabba is a very engaged and inspiring person, he works like a maniac which pretty much aligns with me. I look forward to create a lot more of these exciting game projects with him. The first two projects will be shown here soon!
